Markdale Homestead consists of two beautifully renovated, charming stone houses, built in the 1800s but now made comfortable with central heating, phones, satellite television and WiFi, open fireplaces, and modern kitchens. Breakfast supplies are provided for you to prepare, and other meals can be supplied by arrangement. Alternatively, the renovated Shearers' Quarters are self catering - you will need to bring bedding. Groups of two to 24 a specialty.
Enjoy the famous Edna Walling Garden surrounding the Professor Wilkinson homestead, with tennis court and heated pool. Walk the 6,000 acre sheep and cattle property, and fish in season. Play a nine hole golf course at Crookwell and a bush course at Bigga. However, you may want to just drop out, relax, and leave feeling rejuvenated after your stay at one of the most beautiful properties in the Southern Tablelands.
Markdale is three hours from Sydney and two hours from Canberra.
