Calliope Swimming Pool is a public swimming pool featuring a toddler wading pool, 25 metre outdoor swimming pool and kiosk for snacks and drinks. Picnic areas and barbecues are provided free of charge making the Calliope Swimming Pool the perfect place for a lazy day out with family and friends.
There is a wide variety of flora and fauna to be observed in Cania Gorge National Park. More than 150 plant species grow in the brigalow forest, eucalypt and cypress pine woodlands, dry rainforest and grassland. In excess of 90 species of birds have been recorded in the park. The best time to visit Cania Gorge National park is in spring when you can see ked kurrajong flowers in bloom. Highlights of the Fern Tree Pool and Giant's Chair Circuit include: spectacular views, sandstone cliffs, abundant birdlife, aboriginal rock art and narrow gorges.
Caloundra's AUD4 million tidal swimming pool on the stunning Kings Beach foreshore is equipped with shade sails, and has a free 25-metre sea-water lap pool, children's swimming pool and wading area with disabled access.
