Held during the first weekend of August (1 and 2 August 2020), competitors challenge the Avon and Swan rivers in a variety of paddle and power craft. In addition to the iconic two day time trial over 124 kilometres from Northam to Bayswater, there is a range of shorter events for all ages, boats and skill levels. The courses offer competitors a variety of conditions ranging from exciting rapids, seemingly impenetrable ti-trees, tricky descents through to long stretches of flat water. With ever-changing conditions, each race is different from the last! Follow the thrills and spills of of the great race from one of the many river festivals conducted by local government partners the Shire of Northam, Shire of Toodyay, City of Swan, City of Belmont, City of Bayswater and City of Armadale.
